Hi, I’m Sophia.
I’m a senior at Los Altos High School who enjoys working with math, data, and the ocean. I like building small, creative projects, and I feel most excited when I’m solving tricky problems or turning messy data into something meaningful.
Beyond academics, I enjoy sailing and coaching younger sailors, playing softball, and helping my family with everyday things. As a first-generation immigrant who moved to the U.S. two years ago, I care about creating spaces where people feel comfortable learning and growing at their own pace.
During summer breaks, I’ve been exploring how technology can support environmental research and education. I attended the RISE summer program at Boston University and COSMOS at UC San Diego. Whether it’s building tools for social good or mentoring others in math and STEM, I like ideas that start small but make someone’s life a little easier.
